FACT: The plan allows Nichols to move, build, and expand structures
and vessels throughout the TOTAL 20+ acre property. SPR p 7
FACT: Island County code currently permits buildings
no taller than 40 feet, enclosing no more than 27,000 square feet.
Nichols will add
thirteen portable buildings 65 feet tall by 150 feet wide x 65 feet
long and will connect these together to form structures that far exceed
current
size limits. These buildings will be 6.5 stories tall. The Boeing building
at Paine Field is 7 stories tall. One building will be 390’ long,
the other 325’ long. The total proposed building area is 173,806

FACT: No storm water run-off plan exists for the project or the expanded
complex. This is alarming given that roughly 140,000sf [3.2 acres] between
the yard and Terra restaurant will be filled and graded to the level
of the current yard as a base for new parking lot. Also not considered
in runoff is the proposed increase in area to be covered by impervious
surfaces. Currently this is 4.9 acres, plan allows for 11.8 acres. SPR
