FACTS ABOUT OPERATIONS
FACT: Work hours at the yard will be extended to 24-hours per day, 7-days per week, 365-days per year, creating significant light, noise and activity impact on surrounding properties, businesses and wildlife. NBBBI 15-year Master Plan p 20 & 22
FACT: The plan does not address the daily impacts of greatly increased operations at the yard. Noise and light pollution, impacts to wildlife, marine organisms and wetlands, visual screening, storm water runoff and toxics are all inadequately addressed and the data used is out of date.
FACT: No consideration is given to the changes that must be made to county infrastructure and the costs of these changes. For instance - Fire District 3 has no equipment capable of battling a fire in a structure over four stories tall
